VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON MEETING
How to Read a Book by Monica Wood
A young woman named Violet has been convicted of manslaughter for a drunk driving accident that caused a woman’s death. While in prison, she finds solace in connection in a book club run by a retired high school English teacher named Harriet. After Violet is released from prison, Harriet helps her to get a job as an assistant at a research lab focused on the cognitive abilities of African grey parrots, but she still has to face the widower of the woman who died in the accident. Wood’s nationwide bestseller is this year’s One Book One Wallingford selection.
Moderated by Readers Advisory Librarian Cindy Haiken. For details about meeting virtually or in-person, contact Cindy Haiken at chaiken@wallingfordlibrary.org.
