VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON MEETING
Trespasses by Louise Kennedy
24-year-old Cushla is a Catholic schoolteacher living just outside Belfast in a small town that, in 1975, is heavily occupied by British soldiers. Lonely and isolated, she meets and falls for an older, married Protestant lawyer whose practice focuses on defending young Catholic men who he believes have been wrongfully accused. Kennedy’s heartbreaking and beautiful debut novel was shortlisted for the 2022 Women’s Prize for Fiction.
Moderated by Readers Advisory Librarian Cindy Haiken. For details about meeting virtually or in-person, contact Cindy Haiken at chaiken@wallingfordlibrary.org.
