Discover the vibrant history of Gee’s Bend quilts in this fascinating talk by Tangular Irby, granddaughter of Gee's Bend quilters Pearlie Kennedy Pettway and Jensie Lee Irby. You'll learn how these stunning works of art have preserved African American heritage, told family stories, and inspired generations for more than 100 years. Through personal tales and cultural insights, you will gain a deeper appreciation for the practice of passing down your family's legacy. Vintage Gee's Bend quilts will be on display during the presentation! SNOW DATE: Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7:00 pm.
