The Collaboratory will receive a new embroidery machine and a new longarm quilting machine in the coming months. Both machines (a Babylock Array and a Bernina Q20) should provide more options and easier usability. The embroidery machine will arrive in mid-April. There will be several weeks where the staff is learning how to use it and updating documentation. Once complete, we will offer training appointments for the public. A few weeks thereafter, we plan to open independent use. In late May, the longarm will arrive, and we will follow the same timeline as the embroidery machine for training and independent use.
Anyone who wishes to use the new equipment will need to attend a training session, regardless of how frequently they used our old machines. Please call us at (203) 265-6754 to schedule a training session.
