Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
Humbert Humbert has fallen in love with Dolores Haze, his landlady's 12-year-old daughter. He reluctantly agrees to marry Mrs. Haze to be close to Lolita, but when Lolita starts looking for attention elsewhere, he takes her on a desperate cross-country misadventure in the name of love. Nabokov’s most famous and controversial novel was named one of the Great American Novels of the 20th century by The Atlantic.
